JOHN MURRAY BOOK COVER DESIGNS
For this University Brief, Lucy had to create a Book Cover Image for the new release of the book ‘No obvious Distress’ A memoir created by Amanda Quaid.
It features compelling and thought- provoking poetry that delves into themes of desire, marriage, motherhood, and mortality.
This memoir reflects Amanda's distinctive journey following a life-altering diagnosis of bone cancer.
Within designing the cover of this book I wanted to feature twoinitial designs so that I could play around with different layouts to experiment.
Featured within the piece is aflower known as a fire lily, a symbol of death. It contrasts with the butterfly, which is often seen as a symbol of hope, getting close to the flower with no fear.
